Kurumi's Date Night in the First Snow
It had been so long since we went out alone. I love that our foster home has grown, and we have so much fun together.
"Can we go out tonight, just the two of us?" Kurumi asked, her pleading kitten eyes impossible to resist.
How could I say no when she looked at me like that? Besides, the rest of the girls could handle the holiday plans without us on Saturday night. I had to admit I missed going out on a Kurumi date night.
At the beginning of December, the weather was cool but not too cold, and we hadn't seen any snow yet this holiday season. After a late lunch with all the girls, we decided to catch an early movie and then enjoy a lovely Italian dinner.
Getting Ready
Saturday night arrived, and I was waiting for Kurumi in the living room when Tamiko came out, smiling. Curious, I asked her why the smile. She replied, "Kurumi is going all out for this, and she's been looking forward to it all week."
A few minutes later, Kurumi shyly emerged and asked if she looked okay. When I looked up, I was momentarily speechless. She wore a long, dark red, form-fitting sweater dress that hugged her curves perfectly, paired with black opaque tights that showcased her shapely legs.
Primula nudged me and, as the other girls laughed, said, "Are you going to say something?"
Once I regained my voice, I told Kurumi, "You look terrific. Did you do all of this for our date night?"
Kurumi said she wanted it to be a special night since it had been so long since we did this. The other girls sent us off with wishes to have a good time.
Dinner and Wine
After our movie, we went to dinner and took our time enjoying a bottle of wine. We discussed many things, as we always do, never running out of topics to talk about.
As our meal ended and the wine bottle emptied, I noticed Kurumi was acting a little shy and nervous, which was unusual for her, especially after two glasses of wine. When I asked what was up, she looked at me and said the night was still young.
"Do we have to go straight home after this?" she asked.
"No," I replied. "Do you have something in mind?"
She mentioned a nearby riverwalk she'd heard was beautiful this time of year. It sounded like a fun idea and a perfect excuse to spend more time together, so I couldn't complain.
The Riverwalk
We left the restaurant and took a short walk to where the Riverwalk begins. Recently renovated, the Riverwalk now boasts a smooth walkway and charming gas lamps lining the path.
Another couple ahead of us held hands, and Kurumi asked if we could do the same. I nodded, reached over, and took her hand in mine. At that moment, I felt her tail wrap around my waist, pulling me closer. When I turned to her, she was smiling and blushing simultaneously.
"It's getting cooler out here," she said. "This way, we can keep each other warm."
"You're right," I replied. "It's cooling off. I can see your breath now."
At the center of the Riverwalk stood a bridge over the river. We made our way to the top, stood under one of the gas lamps, and enjoyed the view of the lights reflecting off the water.
First Snow
Kurumi stepped away, clasping her hands behind her back as she turned towards me. For the second time that night, she took my breath away.
Large, puffy snowflakes began to drift down, some settling gently in her hair, each one a delicate, pure white contrast to her dark hair. As she glanced over her shoulder, her eyes filled with a knowing adoration, I was utterly smitten by her beauty.
She expressed how much she loved our date night and wished it didn't have to end. I told her how much I enjoyed myself and mentioned that she looked absolutely wonderful tonight. I couldn't have asked for a better day.
She seemed so happy to hear this, hugging me tightly and giving me a kiss on the cheek. I blushed, surprised by her sudden move.
As Kurumi began to look cold, I draped my jacket over her shoulders. We walked back to the car, her arm wrapped around mine as she stayed close to me.
The End
